Monkman Provincial Park

Monkman Provincial Park is made up of 62,867 hectares of natural beauty. This area includes alpine meadows, jagged mountain peaks, forested valleys, thundering waterfalls and clear alpine lakes. Some of the most impressive sites of Monkman Provincial Park are:

 

Activities

Hiking

Anything from 10 minutes from your vehicle to 5 day hikes in the backcountry. Experienced hikers only with advanced navigation skills past Monkman Lake, at this point it becomes a route and climbs into the sub-alpine where there is no trail maintenance.

Biking

Mountain biking is only allowed up to Km 12 along the Monkman Trail.

Fishing

Monkman Provincial Park contains a series of lakes and rivers that contain trout, char, grayling and whitefish. Appropriate licenses are required.

Horseback Riding

Horses are allowed along the Monkman Trail and within backcountry areas zoned Wilderness Recreation.

Facilities

The facilities available at Monkman Provincial Park are campfires, drinking water, picnic area, outhouses, vehicle accessible camping, walk-in camping and wheelchair access (to Kinuseo Falls).
