We are excited to announce that the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark will be holding its 4th Annual Fishing Derby from July 1-3, 2022. The goal of the event is to promote awareness of the fishing opportunities around Tumbler Ridge. All proceeds from this year’s event will be re-invested to enhance our programs and events in the Peace Region. Tickets will be available to purchase starting June 1, 2022.

The Derby will take place on three lakes located within or around the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark (Moose Lake, Stoney Lake and Boot Lake). Each lake will have its own weigh-in station and prize categories, so anglers will be able to fish multiple lakes over the course of the weekend. Holding the derby on multiple lakes can help minimize the impacts on the fish populations in the lakes while ensuring a positive fishing and camping experience. All children registered and under the age of 8 will fish free and receive a prize.
